Lucy had her two-month-old doctor's appointment today.
She weighs 10.2 pounds and is 23" long at nine weeks!
We successfully delayed the first set of vaccinations for Lucy and our pediatrician was respectful yet urged us to stay "on track". Mom and dad prefer to delay the shots until she's at least 4 months old when perhaps her immune system is a little stronger. We will be following an alternative schedule that spaces the shots apart in the hopes for less overload on her little body.

Just in the last few days Lucy has become very interested in her feet and her hands. It seems she has just discovered them! Very cute. She is also extremely aware of other people now and often makes eye contact. She always looks so engaged and we're happy to see her doing so well. Practicing tummy time isn't always a cheery event for Lucy but she is so strong and pushes herself right along!

We are anticipating this coming Thursday night when I start to teach one night a week for the next few weeks. It will be Lucy's first time away from mom for an extended period: almost 5 hours! I am sure it will be a bit hard on us but also a step toward independence for everyone in our family. Breaks for mom and quality time for dad and baby are both good things.
I love her expression in that second photo! hahaha
ReplyDeleteShe looks a little mischievous huh? She's full of expressions these days.
